Zach's got a bright Future!

WHEN you get to 36-years-of-age you would think a person would be getting a bit slower and looking for a more comfortable chair to sit in with his pipe and slippers? Not a bit of it if your name is Mike Brown. The Tennessee Titan', a former AMA National 125cc champion and a current British Supercross Champion is by far stronger, fitter and more determined than he has been in many a long season and looked healthy and full of vigour for the majority of the SX1 and SX2 heats and Finals during rounds two and three of the Future West-promoted and ACU-backed British Supercross Championship, held at the fabulous Liverpool Echo Arena in Liverpool's Albert Dock over last Friday and Saturday evenings.
The fans came to see the Supercross stars in action, and as usual the Youth and Clubmen riders got in on the act too plus the – wait for it – the Quad pilots showed what they could do on the tight, technical circuit as well, much to the surprise of the crowd.
It worked with the best soil seen at a Future West gig, soft and loamy which lent itself well to help build up some helpful berms.
Brown seemed to catch the attention as it was his last visit to a Liverpool SX event before retiring to the USA at the end of the season.
However, it was his fellow American, Zach Osborne, that pipped him to double SX1 Final wins over the two nights
Young whipper-snapper Carl Nunn gave the local crowd something to shout about in Friday's SX2 Final with a fine and very daring last corner attack on initial leader Brown to snatch the glory after Brown had done all the hard work at the front.
Neville Bradshaw showed that his recent marriage can stimulate a fine work ethic and snatched third place behind Nunn and Brown.
In Saturday night's SX2 Final, Brown made no last-minute mistake with a gate-to-flag victory to lead the SX2 championship race into the final round at London's O2 Arena tomorrow night (Saturday).
Osborne could do nothing about Brown's speed and technical skill as the pair battered up and down the track creating a magical spectacle of Supercross racing.
Carl Nunn, an early race rival to Brown, again tried speed and daring to get past Brown, but found the loamy soil too soft in a tight left-hander and went down, trapping his leg under his Suzuki. He eventually finished in seventh spot at the flag once he got going again. Despite this he still holds second spot in the series standings going to London.
Canadian champion, Colton Facciotti grabbed third place after the crowd were wooed by Brown and Osborne's last lap dices. Fabulous entertainment.
