The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship will open in Canada after organisers confirmed the first five rounds of what is set to be the most expansive calendar in the series’ history.
Events have been scheduled across five continents, underlining the championship’s continued global growth, with a sixth round still to be announced to complete the season.
The campaign gets underway on August 8 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary - a new venue for the series but its third consecutive visit to Canada. The date has been strategically selected to align with the wider supercross and motocross calendar while maintaining a foothold in the North American market.
The championship will then return to the UK for the first time since 2023, with Alexander Stadium in Birmingham hosting round two on October 10.
From there, the series heads to Buenos Aires on October 24, revisiting a venue that delivered one of the standout events of last season following its debut on the calendar.
The penultimate confirmed round will take place at Cbus Super Stadium on November 21, as the championship returns to Australia after several closely fought races in recent years.
A return to South Africa is also confirmed following a successful debut in Cape Town last season, with venue and date details yet to be finalised.
A sixth and final round will be announced at a later date.
Tom Burwell, CEO of World Supercross, said the schedule marks a significant step forward for the series: “This announcement is the next step in building our biggest season yet. Returning to strong markets like Canada, Argentina, South Africa and Australia highlights how these GPs have grown year on year, while bringing the championship back to the UK is something fans have been asking for.”
Antonio Alia Portela, FIM Motocross Commission Director, added: “World Supercross continues to demonstrate its global ambition and elite standard of racing. The 2026 calendar announced so far reflects a strong balance of established markets and world-class destinations.”
Further announcements, including teams and rider line-ups, are expected in the lead-up to the opening round.
