It was a wild night in Glendale, Arizona for the fourth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship – the first Triple Crown race of the 2025 season – as Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton took the overall round win without winning a race. Sexton’s 3-2-2 scorecard was best on the night and puts Sexton into the lead of the fledgling series.
Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb won the first Main Event of the evening before backing that win up with a fifth and a third. This was good enough for second overall as previous championship leader Ken Roczen took third overall courtesy of 4-1-5 finishes.
The final Main of the evening was won by Eli Tomac who improved through the night to secure fourth with 6-4-1 finishes of his Star Racing Yamaha.
Defending champ Jett Lawrence ran 2-2-DNF for eighth overall – the non-finish coming when the Australian HRC star put a steadying foot down in the scrum for turn two supremacy and hurt his knee. The extent of the damage is unknown just yet.
“The first two races were chaos,” explained winner Chase Sexton. “I had to fight really hard to get to a good position and be on the podium. In the last race I made a dumb mistake and let Eli get by me. Honestly, I’m a little bummed I didn’t win that last race; I wanted that one. But I got the overall win and that’s what we’re here to do. We’re here to win and get the red plate back, and consistency paid off tonight. My speed was good… we’re in a good spot and I’m ready to fight for this thing.”
