For Ducati’s first appearance in the premier American Supercross series, the Desmo450 MX machines were equipped with Galfer Shark brake discs front and rear, selected by the team to meet the extreme performance and durability demands of Supercross competition. The opening round at Angel Stadium, held on January 10, provided the first competitive test for the new collaboration.
While this season represents Galfer’s first official entry into AMA Supercross at this level, the Spanish braking specialist is no stranger to top-tier American racing. Its components have previously featured in high-profile programmes, including Rockstar Husqvarna Factory Racing in 2022, as well as on machines ridden by leading AMA Supercross contenders such as 2018 450SX champion Jason Anderson and multiple race winner Ken Roczen.

That experience played a role in Ducati’s decision to partner with Galfer for its Supercross debut, with the company’s braking systems having already been developed and tested under the unique demands of U.S. stadium racing.
On track at Anaheim, the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team showed encouraging signs. Dylan Ferrandis finished ninth in the Main Event after a consistent performance on a technical circuit, while Justin Barcia showed strong pace in qualifying before crashing out early in the race.

Galfer’s Shark brake discs are designed to deliver high levels of braking power and modulation, alongside improved thermal stability and reduced operating temperatures - attributes aimed at maintaining performance across the intense, short-format Supercross races. The lightweight construction is also intended to contribute to durability and longevity over the course of a full championship campaign.
Following its Anaheim debut, Galfer will continue to support the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team throughout the 2026 AMA Supercross season, further strengthening its presence in global elite-level motocross and Supercross competition.
