Star Racing Yamaha teammates Cooper Webb and Justin Cooper dominated the Indianapolis Supercross – Round 9 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series – enabling Webb to extend his points lead by five to 15, as Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton recovered from a fall in the sand section to secure third place on the night.
Justin Barcia (Rockstar Energy GASGAS) took the holeshot and led for several laps until Webb, Sexton and the Cooper all passed him without too much fuss. Barcia then fought off an attack from Aaron Plessinger (Red Bull KTM) to eventually finish fourth.

At the front of the field Webb was flawless as he rode to his first-ever 450 win in Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium. “Man, that was an awesome main event for me, probably one of the easier ones of my career,” said Webb. “I got a good lead and could ride the pace. Obviously when Chase went down it really opened up the cushion. I executed my start, rode great laps in the beginning and then put it on cruise control and (had a) drama-free race.”
The series takes one week off before heading to Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama on March 22 for the second Triple Crown race of the series.
