THE rejuvenated Gas Gas marque, now owned by electric two-wheeler manufacturer Torrot, has wasted no time in getting ready for trials bike production in the Girona factory.

It is now busily assembling the parts necessary to assemble the eagerly awaited production machines.

First on the trials line will be the TXT Racing models – designated as 2017 – which, as before, will be available in 125/250/280 and 300 models.

The new Gas Gas company has committed to quality in both build and components and the Racing is a top-spec model which will set the standard.

Suspension features all-aluminium Tech front forks with a quality, durable finish to both stantions and legs while the aluminium swinging arm is controlled by a Reiger2V unit.

The machine is, as expected, an up-specced 2015 model, that features a titanium front pipe and new Hidria Twin Spark ignition. The Racing also benefits from the latest in braking technology including GN discs while Keihin carbs grace all four models. There's also a high-tech, top-quality carbon fibre rear silencer and releasing the high-end Racing model is a shrewd move as they have always offered excellent value for money considering the top-end componentry.

As the factory gears up for production later in March, British importer John Shirt is looking forward to his first delivery in early April.

Gas Gas UK rider Sam Haslam successfully waved the company flag with a well-earned win in the North Berks club's Wallace Cup National last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Michael Brown overcame an injury scare while competing in an Indoor event at Bielefeld, Germany. Browny suffered a nasty crash but it is reported that he is a bit battered but the knee – which he broke last year – is fine and continues to improve with physio and use.
