The Lochaber club's Ian Pollock Memorial trial has long been a favourite event for Scottish riders, and those who don't mind a trip north, for a sneaky wee practice for the Scottish Six Days.

This year though the event, staged in Kinlochleven, was supposed to run on March 19 but a heavy snowfall several days before caused the organisers to postpone the trial, in order to keep observers safe as many sections are out high on the moors.

But thanks to a huge amount of work, the organisers were able to run just one week later on Sunday, March 26 and although some riders couldn't attend, all those on the reserve list got a ride.

Garry MacLennan and his assistants did a superb job with the two-lap, 20-section course and Fergus Gray, a man who served the Scottish Six Days Trial well with over 20 years in charge of the results, came up with a new results system.

Gary Macdonald took a cracking overall win from the promising 14-year-old Euan Sim who pipped the experienced Joe Dawson and Andy Anderson.

Robbie Weir nailed the Masters from English visitors Gary Younghusband and Trevor Willans while Chris Moir took a comfortable B route win.
