Multi Scottish Trials Champion to make a comeback
By John Dickinson on 22nd Jan 20
After a break of almost two years, multi Scottish Trials Champ Gary MacDonald is to make a welcome return to trials this year.
Since the 2018 Scottish Six Days, in which he finished an excellent third, Gary has concentrated on Cyclo-Cross and MTB events, with considerable success.
Gary will return to the Scottish Six Days on Montesa, a new four-stroke challenge, and take in other trials as and when his cycling commitments allow.
Said Gary on a Facebook post: Happy to finally announce that Ill be riding a Montesa RR301 under the banner of Leven Homes Ltd.
"Im grateful to Martin & Sheri Murphy to have the opportunity to come back to trials. Hanging the boots up after the SSDT 2018 which saw a great result in third wasnt an easy choice but a good one now looking back.
Ive had a much-needed break to replenish the love for trials and also to follow other challenges on two wheels with CX & XC racing. The aim of 2020 is to come back and ride the SSDT and really enjoy it.
Ill also be back once again for the Pre-65 on the David Stewart Triumph Cub meaning a tough eight days in May.
"Id like thank Duncan Wood of East Neuk Motorsport for all his support and time since 2015, along with Nigel Birkett Scorpa who has been amazing, wishing you all the best for the future.
