Preview: Chris Carter Trophy - S3 Parts

The 2018 ACU S3 Parts National Trials Championship continues its headlong rush through the early months of the year. Following last weekends Welsh Trophy and Lomax National double-header, the Chris Carter Trophy this Sunday makes it three rounds in eight days.
Sunday, April 8, will see the Yeadon Guisely club stage the sixth round of eight (or it could be nine if the cancelled Jack Wood finds a new date) with their annual Chris Carter event.
The trial will be based, as usual, at their well-known Dob Park venue, Otley, when around a dozen groups ranged round a 20-mile road-based course will provide 40 separate sections over a single lap. First man will leave the start at 9.30am.
With nine sections ranged in Dob Park wood right by the parc ferme to start with, and eight sections just across the track in Browns for the finale, spectators dont even need to move once parked up.
And as several other groups are NO GO for spectators there really is no advantage in moving.Refuelling is taken care of by the club, as long as competitors remember their cans, so theres no need for vans blocking-up the lanes.
Richard Sadler made a stunning start to the season, taking maximum points in the opening four rounds. But he suffered his first S3 Parts defeat of 2018 on Easter Monday when his pal and fellow Beta rider Guy Kendrew finally got the better of Richard to win the Llangollen clubs Lomax National by a single mark!
