Sondre Haga and the GASGAS TXE claim Spanish TR2 title
By Team TMX on 8th Oct 24
Norway’s Sondre Haga and his prototype GASGAS TXE electric motorcycle have been crowned Trial2 champions of Spain. Camprodon, near Girona, the original home of the GASGAS factory, hosted the seventh round of the Campeonato de Espana de Trial.
It was a good weekend for the GASGAS team as Jaime Busto beat off Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda) and Adam Raga (Sherco) to take the overall victory in the TR1 division. All three had competed at the previous night’s X-Trial round held in nearby Andorra and were still high on adrenaline as they battled for victory. Busto took the top spot on the podium with 39 marks while Marcelli took second with 73 – beating Raga by a single mark.
Haga dominated the TR2 class on the day as he beat Spanish up-and-comers Samuel Obrado and Pau Martinez to the top step of the podium. Obrado and Martinez tied on 41 marks apiece but Obrado took the runner-up spot behind Haga who’d also competed in Andorra the night before.
“A busy weekend full of great memories,” confirmed Haga afterwards. “My first ever indoor on the electric bike on Saturday, where we learnt a lot and got a lot of positive confirmation that the bike is competitive on high-level sections and then on Sunday taking the TR2 Spanish Championship at the first attempt with the TXE was awesome. Amazing work from the whole team.”
