Trials

AT 7.30am on Monday, May 2 the 2016 Scottish Six Days Trial finally gets underway as 280 eager starters leave the West End parc ferme in Fort William.

Basically, while there are alternatives for experienced followers the day is all about two groups for spectators.

Leanachen first thing, where the large round boulders in the river test first-day nerves and you can just about see the whole field through.

Then it is down the road and over Ballachulish bridge to Lagnaha, grab cakes and a tea in the caff and up onto the hillside for the tough six-sub finish in the rocky gullies.

Riders will have left Leanachen, headed north to Spean Bridge, right turn and then right again on to the track that takes them to Bradileig and then the first moorland ride of the week to Kinlochleven, then on to Lagnaha.

They sign-off on leaving the group and then it is a leisurely ride back alongside Loch Linnhe to end the day.AT 7.30am on Monday, May 2 the 2016 Scottish Six Days Trial finally gets underway as 280 eager starters leave the West End parc ferme in Fort William.
