Scottish Six Days Trial – Monday
By John Dickinson on 2nd May 17
DOUGIE Lampkin began his quest for an amazing eleventh Scottish Six Days Trial win in perfect style as he piloted the factory Vertigo through the days 66 miles and 30 sections set over 10 separate groups, without loss of marks.
But he wasn't the only one!
In weather conditions more Fuerteventura than Fort William, with riders, officials and spectators basking in a dry wind and unexpected afternoon sunshine, no fewer than five riders finished with a blemish-free scorecard. Joining Doug at the head of the field were Jack Price on the Gas Gas, Beta duo Jack Sheppard and Guy Kendrew and Scorpa-mounted Andy Chilton and Gary Macdonald.
Gary of course coming fresh from his victory in the preceeding Pre-65 Two Day trial, the first Scot to win and also as a first timer! Full Monday report in TMX Thursday...
Update here tomorrow.
