Toni Bou wraps up Anglesey TrialGP with another win

Reigning TrialGP champion Toni Bou (Montesa) made it 16 wins on the bounce and extended his championship lead to a commanding 90 points as he once again dominated proceedings at round four of the 2026 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship. In the TrialGP Women class, Andrea Sofia Rabino (Beta) completed a perfect weekend, sealing her double with a sensational clean ride in race two.
Francesco Titli, Daniela Hernando and Harison Skelton also topped their respective classes on a busy Sunday that saw home hero Harry Turner share Trial2 race wins, while Britain celebrated further success in Trial3 Junior thanks to Skelton and Max Dance.
A brighter morning greeted the riders at the spectacular Trac Mon Circuit on Anglesey, where a big, vocal crowd lined the coastal sections. And for the past 19 years, no one has handled terrain like this better than Bou.
With sections bookended by man-made hazards and dominated by jagged shoreline rock, the course looked as intimidating as ever – but Bou made it look routine. Section four again proved pivotal, claiming maximums from the entire TrialGP field bar Matteo Grattarola (Beta), whose outrageous single dab kept him in the hunt despite earlier damage.
From there, Bou was almost untouchable. A rare two at section ten was the only blemish before he wrapped up victory with 13 marks. Team-mate Gabriel Marcelli, riding through the pain of a fractured finger, dug deep for second on 15, with Jaime Busto (Beta) third and Grattarola fourth. Britain’s Harry Hemingway (Beta) battled to fifth after edging a tie-break with Miquel Gelabert (Honda) and Jack Peace (Sherco).
In the Final, Bou went bar-to-bar with Busto and Marcelli once again. Busto briefly seized the initiative with a brilliant one at section four, but Bou responded in trademark fashion, dropping just a single mark in the Super Final to take the win by two. Marcelli completed the podium, while Hemingway impressed in fourth, just ahead of electric-mounted Gelabert.
“I’m super-happy,” said Bou. “This weekend has been perfect and I’ve had a really good feeling on the bike.”
If Bou was clinical, Rabino was simply flawless. Fresh from her Saturday double, the Italian picked up where she left off, taking race one with just two marks – four clear of reigning champion Berta Abellan (Scorpa). Alessia Bacchetta added another podium in third, while Britain’s Kaytlyn Adshead placed fourth.
Race two belonged entirely to Rabino. A clean lap at this level is gold dust – and she delivered it under pressure to complete a stunning weekend sweep. Abellan and Bacchetta again filled the podium behind her, but the damage in the title race was done, Rabino slashing the deficit to just eleven points heading into the finale.
“It has been a perfect weekend,” said Rabino. “Two wins and a clean ride – I couldn’t ask for more.”
Trial2 delivered one of the day’s tightest battles. Harry Turner (Sherco) backed up his Saturday form by taking race one with a single dab, but Francesco Titli (Montesa) hit back hard. The Italian followed up second in race one by winning race two on a miserly single mark to secure the overall victory.
Turner’s second-race score of six dropped him to ninth in that outing and ultimately third overall, as Jack Dance claimed a superb second on the day. Spain’s Arnau Farré and France’s Benoit Bincaz were also in the mix in a fiercely competitive class.
“The feeling is very good,” said Titli. “Second in race one and the win in race two – it’s great to be back on top.”
Championship leader Alex Canales (Montesa) endured a tough day, slipping to eighth overall, allowing Turner to close to within two points in the standings.
In Trial2 Women, Spain’s Daniela Hernando (Beta) finally converted her potential into victory, backing up a race-one win with third in race two to edge the overall. Britain’s Matilda Arbon (Sherco) responded with a race-two win to secure third overall and retain the championship lead by five points.
Trial3 delivered more home success as Harison Skelton (Scorpa) topped the podium for the second time this weekend, reclaiming the series lead. Max Dance (Scorpa) fired back with a race-two win to take second overall, while Norway’s Patrick Bjørnland Larsen (Sherco) completed the podium.
“This weekend has been unreal,” said Skelton. “Two overall wins at home – you can’t beat that.”
Attention now turns to Cahors for the TrialGP of France on August 29-30, where the title fights in TrialGP, Trial2 and Trial3 Junior will reach their climax.
