The 2026 ACU TrialGB Championship roared into action with a spectacular opener on the rugged North Devon coast, as riders descended on Ilfracombe for two days of world-class competition at the stunning Keypitts Farm on April 25/26. The 150-acre venue delivered everything you’d expect from a season opener from deep valley woods to rocky gullies, river sections to sharp hill climbs, Keypitts served up a relentless test across its natural terrain playground.

In the headlining TrialGB class it was a Hemingway family affair at the sharp end. George Hemingway struck first with victory on day one, before brother Harry hit back on Sunday to leave the pair split by just six marks at the top of the standings. Day two proved incredibly tight, with Harry Turner missing out on the win by a single mark and Devon local Billy Green just another mark behind in third. Defending champ Jack Peace sits fourth in points but very much in the fight.

A record entry brought serious depth to the TrialGB Women class. Alice Minta dominated day one, but Kaytlyn Adshead flipped the script on Sunday with a narrow one-mark win. The pair leave Devon level on points, with Alicia Robinson consistent in third and Matilda Arbon tied with Nikita Smith just behind.

Scotland’s Duncan MacColl opened with a statement Trial2 win but couldn’t maintain momentum as Oliver Smith charged to victory on day two to take the championship lead. Defending champion Jack Spencer found form late to stay in contention, while Hugo Jervis and Australia’s Connor Hogan remain firmly in the mix. Bill Reeves, stepping up from Youth A, sits seventh after a solid debut weekend.

There was no separating Holly Dixon and Summer Peters in Trial2 Women after Devon, with both riders claiming a win apiece to sit tied at the top. Brianna King and Seren Walters are locked together just behind in an already tight championship picture.

Joe Snelling took the early Trial Expert spoils, but Charlie Smith responded in style on Sunday to move into the championship lead. Emma Bristow showed her class with a strong second-place finish on day two, putting her third overall in the series standings, while Elliot Laws, Joshua McParland and Brett Harbud are deadlocked behind her.

In Trial3, Mason Vasey edged a tense day one battle with Koby Smith by a single mark before stamping authority on day two with a clear win. Archie Bremner’s runner-up finish on Sunday lifts him into a tie for second in the standings with Ollie Gundry, while Smith sits fourth.

Niki Louis controlled the Trial3 Women’s class across both days, getting the better of Carrie Dickinson, while in the Trial3 Girls class Sophie Ferguson delivered a flawless double victory. Sophie Sellers and Rosy Connor shared the runner-up honours, with Lilly Butterworth also making her mark on the podium.

Hudson Ravenhill-White was untouchable in Trial4, taking a dominant double win and maximum 40-point haul. Samuel Le Fevre’s consistency keeps him second overall, while Mason Tidd and Tommy Keet each claimed runner-up finishes to stay firmly in the championship picture.
