TrialGP hits halfway as world’s best head to Anglesey for Trac Mon debut

The 2026 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship reaches the halfway stage this weekend (July 24-26) as round four – the TrialGP of Great Britain – fires into life at the spectacular Trac Mon Circuit Anglesey.
Making its debut on the calendar, the purpose-built Welsh venue provides a fresh challenge for the world’s best, with all five classes in action for only the second time this season. TrialGP, TrialGP Women, Trial2, Trial2 Women and Trial3 Junior will all be on the billing, promising a packed and varied weekend of world-class competition.
At the head of the premier class, Toni Bou continues to rewrite the record books. The Montesa maestro remains unbeaten across the opening three rounds as he chases an astonishing twentieth consecutive world title, holding a commanding 66-point advantage over team-mate Gabriel Marcelli.
Behind them, Matteo Grattarola has quietly built momentum with a string of solid finishes, while Jaime Busto – despite five podiums from six starts – will be keen to make up ground after a costly off-day in Andorra. Further back, electric-powered contender Miquel Gelabert continues to impress, but British hopes will centre on Jack Peace and Harry Hemingway, both looking to capitalise on home support to push up the order.
In TrialGP Women, Berta Abellan arrives in Wales with momentum firmly on her side. After an early-season wobble, the defending champion bounced back with a dominant double win in Italy to extend her advantage over Andrea Sofia Rabino to 23 points. Rabino has already shown she can fight back, though, and this title battle looks set to run all the way to the wire.
There’s plenty at stake behind them too, with Denisa Pechackova under pressure from Alessia Bacchetta in the fight for the final podium place, while Britain’s Alice Minta and Kaytlyn Adshead will be aiming to make their mark on home soil.
Trial2 remains as competitive as ever, with four different winners from six days of action so far. Alex Canales leads the way thanks to his consistency, but with Arnau Farré and Britain’s George Hemingway close behind, the fight for top honours is wide open. Home interest is further boosted by Harry Turner, fresh from victory in Italy, alongside Billy Green and Jack Dance – all capable of mixing it at the front.
In Trial2 Women, the absence of injured series leader Queralt Fontdevila throws the class wide open. Britain’s Matilda Arbon, who has already tasted victory this season, will be looking to seize the initiative, with Abril Montserrat Junque and Justyna Lonycz also firmly in contention.
The Trial3 Junior category reaches its own midway point with Italy’s Fabio Mazzola in control after three wins from four starts. Britain’s Harison Skelton remains his closest challenger, but with Oriol Garcia Campano and Marco Laure closing in, the battle is far from settled.
Off the sections, the three-day Moto Fest adds to the spectacle, with riding zones, live entertainment and a busy Expo Village running from Friday through to Sunday.
The TrialGP action begins with Friday evening’s Super Test at 17:00 before two full days of competition get under way across the weekend – setting the stage for what promises to be a defining round in this year’s championship.
Fans looking to be part of the action can head to Trac Mon Circuit Anglesey, located near Ty Croes on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, with easy access from the A55.
