NORTH Yorks brothers Dan and Jack Peace, together with Welsh Champ Iwan Roberts, dominated last weekends second and third European Championship rounds at Breal Sous Montfort, in north west France.

Dan and Jack both pulled-off a pair of fantastic winning doubles in the European and Junior Cup classes respectively, Dan mounted on his brand new 300 JST Cloburn Gas and Jack on his 125 version.

TTT Beta teamster Roberts scored good European points with third and fourth placings.

The two rounds were staged in very different conditions.

Saturday was dry and the varied sections – including some pretty big rockery in a quarry and an impressive man-made waterfall – saw low scores.

Dan, factory Sherco youngster Miquel Gelabert – who was runner-up both days – and Roberts all recorded single-figure totals.

One of the pre-trial favourites, Vertigo factory rider Francesc Moret was out even before the start, having bust his hand when he fell while walking the sections.

The dry conditions also made it a low scoring and close contest in the Juniors but Jack kept his nerve to bag the win.

Sunday was a very dfferent game as heavy rain overnight saw the terrain turn from grippy to gripless mud.

The Peace brothers, though, revelled in these very difficult conditions.

Dan posted two very consistent laps of 11 and 12 which contrasted sharply with Gelabert, who struggled on the opening lap with a score of 24.

He hit back with an amazing second circuit of just four marks but it was not enough to catch Dan, who was a model of consistency.

Jack also was totally at home in the conditions, even though the 125s really weren't the ideal tool for the job when grip was at a premium, and the opposition could do nothing to stop the talented young Brit.

The European series features its own unique scoring system and Jack has a convincing lead in the Junior Cup category with a maximum 300 points – three wins from three starts.

Gelabert, with 270 points, holds a narrow Championship advantage over Dan on 260, with Roberts back in fifth on 190 points.
