Trials Torque: It’s all systems go for Bemrose blast

By John Dickinson on 8th Mar 17

Trials

NATIONAL trials action this Sunday comes via North Derbyshire Youth MCC with vital assistance from the Man 17 and Macc TC guys and gals in the shape of the 88th running of the National Bemrose Trophy Trial.

This traditional single-lap epic on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border has drawn a bumper entry of 159 riders.

They will tackle a 35-mile course which boasts 40 sections spread over no fewer than 11 groups.

Riders will have seven hours to complete the course.

The course is similar to recent years and includes all the favourite groups including Kidtor Vale, Wrights, Etchings, Booth farm, Manor Steps, Hawks Nest, Danebower and Cheeks.

There are three course options with riders offered Expert, Clubman and a 50/50 option.

And it ought to be an interesting tussle for the Premier with contenders, including Gas Gas aces Michael Brown and Dan Thorpe, Beta's Richard Sadler and Jack Spencer and Sherco challengers Luke Walker and Chris Pearson.

Browny should have the edge but who knows what will happen on the day?

And picking a winner for the other routes and multitude of classes is a lottery.

The start will be at a bright and early 9am from Haslin Farm, High Edge Raceway, near Buxton where Scott Rowland is set to be first man away and course opener.
