THE fourth round of the ACU Sammy Miller National Championship will take place in scenic Nidderdale this Sunday, July 24, organised once again by Ilkley & DMC.

The format remains unchanged with a 30-mile, 30-section route starting in Pateley Bridge and taking in old favourites Watergate, Cockhill Mines, Gowthwaite then north east to High Ray Carr with a Ripon Motor Club contribution at Winksley and a finale at the well-known Shepherd family farm at Fellbeck.

Adrian Tate and his team will be plotting the course and start time will be 10am.

The parc ferme is the Pateley Bridge Auction Mart, where Sam Jackson will be feeding all in the handy Teacups Cafe.

Early this week the entry stood at around 50 with six sidecars and more entries expected.

The chairs were headed by Paul Fishlock and Debbie Merrell on their 500cc Ariel who start ahead of Peter Pesterfield/ Jana Grosman and Karl Jarvis/ Bob Chapman, also Ariel mounted.

The comedy act of Lee Granby/ Les Ashby will be hoping that the ignition on their C15 BSA doesn't act up.

Names in the solos include three times World Champion Yrjo Vesterinen and daughter Hanna who both ride BSA Bantams.

Robin Luscombe, Keith ‘Kurt' Hobson, Eric Boocock and Keith Gardner are all Triumph Cub mounted.
