Saturday January 24, 2026 will see the First Direct Bank Arena Leeds host its first ever motorcycle event of any kind with the World’s best Trial riders signed up to take part in the exciting and entertaining X-Trial Leeds competition. The current top three ranked riders, headed by 38 times World Champion Toni Bou, will face off against Britain’s very own World Champions Harry and George Hemingway, with the latter making his international indoor debut in the series.
17-year-old George and his elder brother Harry who will celebrate his 20th birthday on the day of the event have won the Trial3 World Championship on three occasions between them, with Harry adding the Trial2 World title to his tally earlier this year. The Hemingway duo is sure to count on plenty of support competing in their hometown when they will be joined by fellow Yorkshireman and current British Champion Jack Peace as the World series returns to the UK for the first time in 10 years.
Regarded as the absolute GOAT of the gravity defying sport, Spain’s Toni Bou will be joined by his two compatriots, Jaime Busto and Gabriel Marcelli who carry the number two and three plates respectively. X-Trial Leeds will be the sixth stop on the World tour having visited Andorra, Spain, an island in the Indian Ocean and Italy prior to arriving at Yorkshire’s premier venue.
The dynamic competition will see the final line up of eight riders – with the two wildcard entrants to be announced soon – in the qualifying heat to battle it out over a terrifying course designed and built by Yorkshire’s ex multi–Trial World Champion Dougie Lampkin MBE, that will feature obstacles rising four metres above the arena floor. The top three riders in the heat will transfer directly to the final, with the remaining riders having to secure their spot in the main event via a last chance race off where only the winner will progress to the climax of the event. The final will see the four riders then have to tackle the death-defying obstacles in the reverse direction to the heat to determine the eventual winner.
With there being a high probability of the Yorkshire trio being amongst the front runners, X-Trial Leeds will provide the perfect opportunity for British fans to support their home heroes on the World stage with the event ideal for all ages with no prior knowledge of the sport being needed to enjoy three hours of non-stop and incredible action within the warmth and comfort of the city centre arena next January. All full access tickets, which are the ideal Xmas gift, include free entry to the rider autograph session, course preview and the Trial Expo exhibition that will be also hosted in the arena on the same day and ahead of the competition getting underway at 5pm.
