REPORT: 90 Racing MXC final round

Team 90 rolled into the paddock at Finningley still on a huge high from winning the Northern Challenge. As the sun came out the paddock filled and with the track preparation completed we were ready to raceAs the last round of the club championship, this was always going to be hotly contested, and the standard of racing on track was awesome.

Out first went the Autos, and right from the start Kalvin Kelly pulled away into first and looked awesome leading the pack. Two from three race wins gave Kelly the first place overall.
Benny Bradley put the pressure on every race and won the last race to take second place overall. Archie Girdham was comfortable all day, with consistent riding giving him third place overall just ahead of Jake Bell in fourth.
Next up came the Junior 65s and this has been the biggest group all season, and today was no different!
Cracking riding from Riley Keene saw him floating through the ruts and he took first place overall with maximum points from all three race wins.
Tyla Hooley was flying today, and took an excellent second overall. James Barker battled through and took third overall, leaving Kaie Stesel to take fourth overall.
Next to go to the gate were the Small-wheel 85s and some excellent riding saw Ethan Tollet take two race wins and the overall first.
Travis Steels pushed hard each race and won the second race to take second place overall.
Jason Lee Bancroft had a great day and fought hard to take third place overall with fourth place going to Alfie Wilkinson.
Up to the gate rolled the Big-wheel 85s and Ben Burridge was flying.
Burridge and Ryan Allison were battling all day but winning two races put Burridge into top spot in first overall. Allison won the last race, taking him into second place overall. Denny Rapson fought for his place chasing hard and took overall third, with Zak Sturdy coming fourth.
An awesome line up of Rookie riders rolled to the start line next and Ben Knight taking the last race win and first place overall.
Connor Fish had a shocking first race, then flew in each race taking second place overall. Joe Jacques won the first two races but a massive off in the last race saw him drop into third place overall, with Max Broadbelt improving every race performance to take overall fourth.
Next out went the Novice Cs and they were their usual fabulous racers!
The group was dominated by Ben Tune who took all three race wins, fighting through the pack each time for first place overall. Aaron Fox had a terrible last race but had done enough to take second place overall. Tom Uniacke improved his results throughout the day and took third overall leaving Will Hurford in fourth place overall.
The B group were again awesome and despite some bike problems Luke Bulman took two race wins and the overall first place. Will Nicholls took a race win and claimed second place. Cameron Gunn had a fantastic last race which saw him claiming the third place, with fourth place falling to Cameron Macro.
The Expert group was dominated by Gavin Stevenson and he took all three race wins to take overall first place with maximum points.
Ryan Bruce pushed hard all day and claimed second place overall. Fraser Pohlen had a poor first race but came back strongly in the last two races to take third place overall. Luke Bull also rode hard and looked good in fourth.
A fantastic weekend was had by all to finish off the season on a high. Thanks must go to several people – Ed Bradley at the track for a great track. Track crew Terry, Mick, Dave, Barrie and James were awesome on the track, as always.
Julie and Clare in the paddock were their usual efficient selves. Lynsey, Katy & Michaela were lap scoring all day and had perfect results, and the medics were spot on as usual. Thanks also to the marshals who stood out all day keeping you all safe, but biggest thanks as always to the riders. Thanks to all of you, your families and supporters and see you next season!
