Club Reports

The Bradford club won the battle with the weather forecasters on Sunday when they staged the annual Timperley Cup Trial on the bleak but sun-blessed moors above Pateley Bridge.

As the 96 competitors completed the second of two laps the snow flurries arrived complete with an Arctic breeze that chilled riders and  observers out on the moors.
The cup was the second event in the Yorkshire Centre ACU Championship series so the big names in county trialling were in action.
At the sharp end Dan Thorpe was right on form after his laser eye treatment, although the strong sunshine was testing the Birstall motor cycle instructor.
Leyburn joiner Richard Sadler had no such worries and was on best form. Battered and bruised former centre champion Sam Yeadon was back in action riding with a right wrist support and sticking plasters on his gashed forehead – the legacy of his Keighley Gate crash quite obvious.
"It does ache a bit now” added Sam. Even so, he posted third expert deprived of the overall by Oliver Sharp.
West Leeds member Nigel Crowther excelled on his Vertigo to beat Buxton's Paul Turner by a single mark.
James Moorhouse made a mockery of Clubman B by planting his 1982 Bultaco on pole position ahead of Falcon's Chris Tolson and Ian Myers.
Making the top ten on the Championship course was Joe Faunthorpe, while Aaron Carter was the class act in Clubman A Youth.
The first four sections were north of the start coming down the valley to the waterfall, which was studied in depth by all the 55 riders.
Only seven riders navigated the angle steps. Thorpe preceded Sadler on lap one and paved the way albeit with two dabs.
Sadler then took two singles, one on each lap. Only Ollie Sharp joined the single mark masters after stopping on lap one.
The Clubman A and B line was easier but with an edgy off camber exit.
Section five, above the waterfall, was milder and therefore the penalties dropped off.
Six and seven tracked the stream and right into the blazing low sun. The reflection off the water was blinding.
From that low point in the valley, the course climbed to the skyline and back down taking in ten mild section with two cracking stream climbs before heading to the 19th, another downhill rocky stream bed.
Chris Tolson did not fare well on this tricky number and dropped a two and one, and the class victory went to James Moorhouse who cleaned on both laps.
