Report: Waterside JMCC
By TMX Archives on 18th Feb 16
With the weather during the week promising a wet trial, St Valentine clearly had other ideas as Sunday turned out to be a cold but dry affair.
In total 65 riders came out to show their ‘love and affection' for the other love in their life besides their partners.
The Expert group were clearly set for a ‘love fest' with all the riders watching and helping each other through each section.
Tom Copp had a great ride dropping just 29 marks, Ben Harrison was second on 40 and Glenn Bailey was third on 78.
Matt Sleep took the win in the Intermediates, despite having three fives for going the wrong way on section eight, anyone would have thought he set the section out with his eyes closed.
Close behind was Graham Harrison on 45, Graham was riding a lovely new Beta which was his recent birthday present – nice way to run it in with a muddy trial!
New to the Adult Novice class this year is Scott Stiles who went on to take the win on nine marks.
In the Youth Novice it was Oli Gray who grabbed the top spot on 23, Jack Somerton was in second on 78 and in third it was Brad Arter on 83.
The Adult Beginner class was full of happy riders; Tony Reynolds showing them all how it was done by dropping just two marks. Nigel Goodman was second on 11.
Emily Page was doing it for the Girls and Youth Beginners dropping just seven marks, with Callum Wood second on 25 and Adam Storer third on 55.
In the Youth E Class David James and Teigan Wood gave it their all dropping just 21 and 27 marks.
Andy Somerton was the winner of the Over 40 C class on nine marks, Mark Ward was second on 31 and Paul Rodgers was third on 35.
Always in a league and class of his own was John Miles in the Twin-shock C, dropping just 16 marks.
The 50/50 Beginners was grabbed by Steve Wagstaff on 45 with Simon Tapsell was second on 55.
In the 50/50 Novice it was Lloyd Long who took the win on 49 marks, Richard Miles second on 56, third was Pete Penton on 61 and Duncan Wood dropped 74.
Duncan worked twice as hard as normal making sure his little lady Teigan got round the trial – nice work dad.
