Academy done well

THE finale of this year's BYMX competition held at Foxhills, last weekend, proved to be a time of real celebration for the ACU Youth Academy and the four riders on the team. On day one, Ben Watson won the Small-wheel 85cc title, followed by Josh Waterman securing enough points to lift the Open class crown. Ryan Houghton had to wait until day two to get his hands on the much coveted Big-wheel 85cc red number one plate, but at the close of play all three guys were popping champagne corks and posing for the cameras. There was more good news too as Connor Walkley secured third place in the Open championship, and Bradley Pocock (pictured) made a successful return to racing action following a long lay off. Brad broke his leg very early on in the season at the opening MXY2 round but said: It's just great to be back racing. I'm really looking forward to next year now.
However after 25-weeks just sitting around I'm really no-where near race fit and I'm just looking to put some quality time back in on the bike.
I will be working hard though on the fitness and stamina levels all through the winter with Mark (Hucklebridge) and the guys.
