AN all-new ACU Quad Enduro Championship has been launched by the Trials and Enduro Committee to provide an outlet for quad riders who are keen to compete in enduro events with time-cards and controls, rather than cross-country or hare and hound-type events.
As yet there has been no discussion or decision on classes for the championship.
For convenience, the new championship will run over four rounds spread over just two-weekends. The first two rounds will be held on the September 5/6 of at the Cwm Ceireg Dyfi Enduro, which is organised by Mid Wales TRA. This event will also include a round of the Quad Forestry Championship, although how the entries and classes will be broken down between the two events isn't quite clear as yet.
The next two rounds will be held on the September 26/27 of at the Natterjack Enduro in Hampshire.
If the new championship is a success then there are plans to see it expand into 2010.
John Collins, the Trials and Enduro Committee chairman said: "We are pleased that we have been able to set up this new championship. It is great to see such enthusiasm from the quad riders and this championship will give them plenty of opportunity to prove themselves.”
Full details of the regulations will be available on the ACU Website – www.acu.org.uk – and from the ACU office in due course.
