ANY British motocross fan with half a brain should be at the spectacular Howton Court, Pontrilas, circuit TOMORROW (Saturday) for the sensational Saturday showdown that will decide the outcome of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships.

The 2007 series has been one of the closest foughtand most rivetting in living memory with both the MX1 and MX2 classadvantages going backwards and forwards.

And it sets up what could well be one of the mostexplosive and memorable final championship rounds ever seen as BillyMacKenzie fights to maintain a slender eight-point lead over reigningchamp De Dycker in MX1, while veteran Mike Brown looks to do the samewith a 12-point advantage over Tommy Searle in MX2.

And if the prospect of the titanic struggles foreventual glory in both classes weren't enough to whet your appetite, then a whole more fuel has been added to the fire with themanufacturers shipping in GP riders for the Oxford Ixion-promoted eventat the Herefordshire venue in a bid to aid their rider's quest for thetitle.

MacKenzie's factory Kawasaki team-mate Tanel Leokhas been confirmed as an entrant in MX1 in a bid to aid the Scot, whileKTM has brought in super-smooth Portuguese Rui Goncalves in MX2 in aquest to help Searle snatch the title he so narrowly lost out on lastyear, too.

Although without the ability to call on riderslike Kawasaki and KTM have, Honda too has got in on the act and hassurprisingly entered MX2 championship leader Mike Brown in the MX1class.

It seems surprising that Honda would jeopardiseBrown's, and their chance of the MX2 crown, so the smart predictionwould be that Brown will only appear in the second MX1 moto to try andassist his team-mate De Dycker, having hopefully already claimed theMX2 crown earlier in the day, but who really knows?
