Barn' dancing from Duke

THE eighth and final round of the Nett Quad Championship was held at Blue Barns Moto Park, near Castleside, County Durham.

In the championship class, Lindsay Duke was indetermined mood. In the first race David Wray got the holeshot but Dukesoon took the lead and went on to win. Paul Holmes took second and Wraythird.

The second race saw Duke blast away off the startand lead from start to finish. There was good battle for second betweenHolmes, Tofdoff and Wray, but Tordoff broke a stub axle leaving Holmesto take second and Wray third.

In the final race Duke took the lead again butHolmes put him under pressure, eventually got past and went on for astylish win. Duke was a comfortable second and eased off knowing he hadwon the 2007 championship. Wray took third.

In the Over 40 championship class, Simon Walton once again took all three wins with Ian Neill in second and Brian Forster third.

The Support class was very competitive. DanielEmmerson took the first race from David Coatsworth and John Chew, butCoatsworth won race two from Scotsman Ian Tait with the consistentSteve Pinder in third. Tait took race three in style. Chew was a goodsecond which gave him the 2007 championship and Coats-worth was third,giving him first on the day.

The Over 40 class was dominated by Steve Pinder, winning all three races. Bobby Graham was second with Carl Robinson third.

In the 250cc Modified class, Wayne Tyson was in great form, winning all three races. Laura Dunsmore came second.

The Modified Blaster class saw a great battlebetween two top class Youth riders, Andrew Lawton and Gavin Dodds. WithLawton winning race one and Dodds race two it was a final race decider.Dodds took the lead with Lawton right behind him. With three-quartersof the race gone, Lawton got past and went on for a great win and hisfirst overall win of the season. Stefan Puska came third.

In the Standard Blaster class, Ryan Turner madethe long trip up from London worthwhile with three good wins. AbiWalton again rode well to take second and clinch her firstchampionship, with local lad Robert Elliot in third.

Cobra class was dominated by Lee Lawton, winningall three races. Adam James looked impressive in second with HarryJohnson in third.

The 100cc Modified class saw Jordon Corrigan winthe first two races with Jack Straughan winning race three. The overallthough went to young Scottish lad Andy Britton Junior with threeconsistent rides.

100cc Standard saw young Mark Powell keep up his great form with three wins. Scott Pounder was second and Jens Puska third.

The 50cc Modified win went to Regan Carmicheal onhis Cobra, while Standard 50cc class was won by Ryan McLeish from SamWilliam-son and Matthew O'Neil.

100cc Modified: 1 Andy Britton Jnr, 2 Jamie Swan, 3 Jack Straughan.

100cc Standard: 1 Mark Powell, 2 Scott Pounder, 3 Jens Puska.

50 Modified: 1 Regan Carmichael.

50cc Standard: 1 Ryan McLeish, 2 Sam Williamson, 3 Matthew O'Neil.
