LINDSEY Duke grabbed the holeshot at the start of the Quad opener with the on-form Beda and Willie Waggott in close attendance, but as they completed the lap, Beda was in second while Mitchell was way back in 30th place after having trouble with another rider.

Winrow was in fourth, but during the next four laps he made his way ahead of Waggott, Duke and then Beda and into the lead while Mitchell was struggling to make his way forward.
At the halfway stage Beda hit trouble and slipped back to eighth spot while Waggott passed Duke for second.
At the flag it was Winrow by just over 13-seconds from Waggott, Beda and Tordoff as Mitchell ended the race in sixth.
A determined Mitchell got the holeshot in race two ahead of Beda and Duke, but the Scot's race was short-lived as a mechanical put him out of the running after just over one and a half laps.
Beda took the lead and that was the last any of his rivals saw of him.
Meanwhile, Winrow was up to second by lap eight, but arm pump caused him to drop back and into the hands of Paul Holmes, and Waggott.
So, Beda won by just under eight-seconds from Holmes and Winrow, while Mark Watson headed up the best of the rest.
After the race, winner Beda said: "In the opener I fell when in second place, but luckily the bike ended up on its wheels and I got back on and battled back to third place. In race two, I got the holeshot and just kept my head down and just went for it.”
Second place man, Winrow said: "In the second race I just went over one of the berms, loosing some places and in a effort to get back to the front I
got arm-pump and the harder I tried the worse it got. However, I still have the points lead so I am happy.”
Meanwhile, a philosophical Mitchell: "In the first race I got a reasonable start but got rammed up the back on the first lap and his front and my rear wheels became entangled. That took some time to separate, so I was right up the back with no real chance of getting in the big points.”
"In race two, I got the holeshot but when I landed from a jump it felt like the rear-shock had gone at first. In fact one of the rear hubs had broken and the wheel overtook me, hit the fence and went over it – we still can't find it!
"It's a shame as the bike was going well, I felt good and liked the track and we were hoping for some
good points. But that's racing!”
