BSMA bounce back at Easter
By TMX Archives on 5th Apr 13
Due to the predicted poor weather the BSMA reluctantly postponed the first round of their 2013 National Championship last weekend, after forecast of more snow and rain over the Easter weekend.
Once again, though, the weather man was not very accurate and in fact for once the weather was much better than predicted.
With the national now booked to run at Tunstall Hall on Saturday and Sunday April 27/28, the WEM and Warley Wasps clubs decided to run a single day open event at the track on Easter Sunday.
With the better weather behind them the clubs were thanked for their last-minute effort in putting on the event by over 200 riders who had a great day on a national prepared track.
A big thank you should also be given to the outgoing Chairman Paul Butler, who secured the Tunstall Hall track for the first round of the BSMA National Championship.
It's a great choice of venue which will be put to good use again in just over three weeks' time.
The BSMA secretary Tracey O'Connor also attended the club event this weekend and was inundated with enquiries about the future national event.
As well as the fantastic event at Tunstall Hall run by the WEM and Warley Wasp clubs, the BSMA has shown its renewed strength within its clubs, with the Coventry club also running an exciting two day event at Sherwood this weekend.
The Coventry Club have incorporated a new VETS championship for the 2013 season which saw some of the older riders getting their kit back out to have a go fuelled by lots of Easter eggs during the two days.
If these two great events were still not enough for you over the weekend, then don't forget that a third BSMA club, Severn Valley, held an event on Easter Monday at the fun Alvington track.
The BSMA are very proud of their clubs and riders and are sure that the success of the Easter weekend will last all year round with some fantastic race events and great riders taking part all over the country every weekend.
If you would like to book in for the re-scheduled first round of the National Championship which will also be hosted by the WEM and Warley Wasp club then you can download an entry form from the BSMA website www.bsmamx.co.uk or call the Secretary Tracey O'Connor at the BSMA office on 08456-016251, Mobile: 07436-563264 or Email: traceyoconnor.bsma@live.com
