The third round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship heads to the sandy circuit at Lyng, Norfolk, following the unfortunate cancellation of the Canada Heights round a few weeks ago.
The Cadders Hill circuit, near Norwich, has been a stable fixture on the Maxxis Calendar for many years.
The fast and flowing circuit with its sandy terrain is a physically demanding motocross venue that has witnessed many titanic battles over recent years including last season's MX2 races between Elliott Banks-Browne and Mel Pocock.
In the MX2 class, HM Plant KTM UK's Elliott Banks-Browne will be looking to continue to lead the challenge from the front, but with fellow East Anglian GP star, Jake Nicholls, entered as a wildcard ride competition for the win is sure to be tight, with both riders looking to take victory in front of their local fans.
Frenchman Steve Lenoir, on the Evotech Stevens KTM, will be hoping to close the gap at the top, along with Graeme Irwin, who currently sits third in the points on the Heads and All Threads Suzuki.
Other riders in the MX2 class looking to turn things around include Bryan MacKenzie and Stephen Sword.
Both Scots had poor results in the second race at the opening round. Young Nathan Watson and Adam Sterry will both be aiming to continue with their strong showings at the series opener.
In the MX1 class, Jonathan Barragan goes into the round effectively leading the championship after finishing second overall to round one wild-card Tommy Searle.
Barragan will have to watch out for Kristian Whatley on the MBO Sports Yamaha who seems to have found his form back on the Yamaha. Other riders looking to move up the points table include Tanel Leok, Steve Ramon and Nicolas Aubin, after making steady starts to their campaigns.
Former British Champion, Brad Anderson, will be looking to put the DNF at Doncaster behind him and challenge for the overall win, while his team-mate, local rider Dorren Coutts, will be hoping to make the step up on to the podium.
Wild-card riders include former British Champion, Carl Nunn, on the Stebbings Southside MX KTM, who will be looking to mix it with the top riders in MX1, while Luke Benstead takes the other MX1 wild-card ride on the Danger UK Suzuki.
Cadders Hill will also feature the second round of the MXY2 class and John Adamson will be keen to extend his lead over Robert Davidson and Ollie Osmaston.
Other riders worth keeping an eye on including Fraser Wakeford, Chris Bayliss, and Joe Bamfield while the 2012 MXY85 Champion Josh Gilbert, on a Honda, will be hoping to have an impact in the event.
The Cadders Hill circuit is situated one mile north of the A1067 Norwich to Fakenham road, or three miles from the A47 Norwich to King's Lynn road. The venue will be signposted from these major roads on the day.
For those using SatNav, the track is located at postcode NR9 5QZ.
Practice starts at 9am with the first MX2 race starting at 12.15pm.
Tickets cost £45 for a family ticket, £20 for individual adults, £15 for concessions and £5 for children. For more information please visit the website – www.mxgb.co.uk
Following a promising race in the MX1 class at the Dutch GP at Valkenswaard in Holland last weekend, Tommy Searle has been invited to take over the place on the start line at Lyng this weekend created by the injury to Alex Snow.
Local fans will also get the chance to celebrate Jake Nicholls' debut GP podium as he lines up as a wildcard in MX2 and Gert Krestinov will hope to carry his form from the Dutch race where he claimed top honours in the MX3 class.
