Hampshire Motocross Club members gathered together on Sunday, at Winterbourne Gunner, for the fifth round of the Club Championships. The track was fast, though technical, with many triple and tabletop jumps, yet in great condition for competitors.
The Junior class Quads were first out as usual. Thomas Callaway wasquick off the startline and holeshot two out of the three races. In thefirst outing Callaway was leading Chris Murphy's Yamaha 450 with greatspeed, yet it was no match as Murphy's machine soon flew past, and fromthen on Callaway was eating the dust.
Callaway went on to finish first in the last two races, giving him awell deserved first overall, and points well earned. It was no surprisethat Murphy came a close second overall.
For Gary Kawalazyk, all three races were consistant. Keeping up thepace seemed challenging at times, with Tony Hosier hot on his heels, but towards the end of each race, he managed to pull away from Hosierwith a comfortable gap to give him third place overall.
Results:
Junior Quads: 1 Thomas Callaway, 2 Chris Murphy, 3 Gary Kawalazyk, 4 Phil Kemp, 5 Tony Hosier, 6 Jeff Evans.
Pro Quads: 1 Carl Bunce, 2 Stefan Murphy, 3 Danny Smith, 4 Greg Fisher, 5 Jason MacBeth, 6 Joe Challen.
