The final round of the RideoffroadUK Putoline Four-hour Enduro series is set to run at Gisburn in the stunning Ribble Valley Lancashire on July 29.

Used for the first time ever in 2011, the new Gisburn offered an eight-mile lap, which traversed the small valley where the event was situated. The course is very open, fast flowing and generally one of those ‘must ride' venues on the rideoffroaduk calendar.

The club have only a one week window from the crops being harvested to the ground being ploughed and re-seeded, so timing is everything with this unique event.

The first event of the day is for Youth riders – both solo and two-man teams. Youth riders will get a full two hours on track to determine the best performances across the youth ranks.

After a short break the adults will be ready to do battle in the main four-hour contest, which will start at 11am prompt.

The start procedure is ‘Le Mans' style, so all riders will have a short run to their machines.

By far the most popular choice as competitor's book-in is the two-man team event.

For this series RoR has simplified the classes, so Expert and Clubman can team up or go solo, and Sportsman, Vets and Beginners can do likewise.

The two-man team atmosphere is always great. Friends and rivals team up for the weekend, they can ride for as long as they like, incorporating exciting rider change overs.

This allows competitors to take a well-earned break or carry out any repairs during the event while their team-mate is out clocking up the laps.

Riders can share or use their own machine with the same race number.

If the UK weather is still opting to be wet, the organisers have an all weather venue on stand-by with hard standing parking to ensure this final Putoline four-hour event takes place come hell or high water!
