THE third round of the 2009 Maxxis British Sidecar-cross Championships takes place at Asham Woods, near Frome, on Easter Monday, hosted by the Frome and DULC&MCC. After two-rounds, current champions, Stuart Brown and Luke Peters lead the championship with four race wins under their belts, 12-points ahead John Lyne and Steve Kirwin, who have followed them home in each race.
Having left Talsarn in 16th place, local crew, brothers Dan and Joe Millard, had three good rides at Canada Heights and have moved up to third place in the championship table.
Two other local crews doing well are Nick Bowers and Paul Young, who are currently ninth and Ross Bowers and Darren Bishop, who are 11th.
Another young crew to watch out for are Nick 'Stickle' Jarvis and Josh Chamberlain, currently in eighth spot after not troubling the scorers in Wales. If this pair can get the bike off the line rather than giving everyone else a head start, they could certainly be racing for a place in the top six.
In addition to the 34 championship sidecars entered, the club has received entries from 40 Twin-shock solos and 20 Twin-shock sidecars.
Practice starts at 9.30am with the first race due to start at 12.30pm. Admission for adults is 8 with children under 16 free. Included in the admission price is a free race programme.
The track is situated at Leighton, near Frome and the post code nearest to the track is BA11 4PW.
