ROUND two of the QRA British Quad Endurance (H&H) Championship this Sunday, May 25, looks set to be a cracker. The course at Wadwick Farm, Egbury, near Andover, has been graded since the Shakedown and some new sections added in readiness for the three-hour championship event. The parking field is nice and firm and ready to accommodate the championship and support competitors from Saturday, May 24.
The event starts at 10.30am with the Pro Class riders headed by Paul Winrow on his Winrow Honda UK Racing TRX450R on pole after his round one win ahead of reigning champion, Steve Atkins.
This year Atkins is riding for the MKM Rocketman Suzuki team and after the first round finds himself in a Honda sandwich with Winrow's team-mate Chris Cook in third. The trio are closely followed by a host of very capable riders looking to snatch points where they can.
The Expert Class is headed by MKM Rocketman Suzuki rider Lewis Hill, the Clubman class champion in 2007.
Pete Henson leads the way in the Clubman Class on his ARK ATV Honda.
Stock class victor at round one was Gary Bowen putting his MPM Racing Suzuki LT-R450 on pole for the Stock Class grid.
The mighty 4x4/ Utility Class winner at round one was Stephen Williams on his Team Adrenalin Can Am Renegade 800.
The track is located near the village of Egbury and is signposted with QRA arrows from the A343 Newbury to Andover road.
QRA has asked us to point out that the farm has sheep and lambs as its full-time residents and therefore litter is a major issue – so take it home with you!
If you have not yet entered then contact the entry secretary Gaynor Nash at gaynor@qrauk.com or call her on 07979-300084 (after 4pm weekdays).
Classes include Pro, Expert, Clubman/ Lady, Stock, 250cc, 4x4/ Utility/ Auto, plus non-championship support riders welcome.
All riders must be over 16 – proof of age may be required if under 18.
Round three scheduled is on Saturday, June 7, at a new venue for quads – Ashdown, Berkshire.
