Dan gets the dosh

MANCHESTER 17 regulars have been riding for CASH and a brand new Trophy this year thanks to a legacy left to the club by stalwart Edgar Rosenthal. Dan Farrer was presented with a cheque for 300, the Edgar Trophy to look after for a year plus a replica to keep at Sunday's Bemrose National Trial by Jude Mellor, Manchester 17's Trials Secretary and all-round trials go-getter.
Dan had pipped Manchester 17's own Craig Robinson to the win at the final round of the series, the Northern Experts. Early season favourite Dan Thorpe finished second with a maximum 20 point for his win at the Experts but his no-show at Family Hipwell's Hartle Trophy event in September proved costly.
With all four of Manchester 17's own major road based events counting again this year for the club's most important prize, not counting the Bemrose where Alan Nixon's North Derbyshire Youth hold the permit, it's already looking like Dan will have a fight on his hands to retain the cup - and the dosh - in 2010!
