Dunns Golden strike
By TMX Archives on 2nd Dec 11

James Dunn took a race win and a podium for the Goldentyre Ihle Kawasaki team at the weekend, as the German ADAC Supercross series travelled eastwards to Chemnitz for the second of four rounds.
The knockabout nature of the indoor game could hardly have been clearer as SX2 points leader Dennis Ullrich failed to even make the evening show on the opening night.
Both 250F wins went to Rasmus Jorgensen after the Dane had not qualified in Stuttgart, and neither SX1 winner even made the Main on the alternate evening!
Series favourite Matt Goerke and surprise packet Thomas Ramette each ran away with an SX1 Main event, but the stadium crown for the weekend went to Cole Siebler from 5-3 finishes.
The spread of points meant that the absent Mike Alessi still leads the series standings!
Freddy Verherstraeten worked wonders in the tiny hall to produce a track where passing was possible and racing was hectic with no-one truly consistent over the two days.
Hot favourite Goerke, so disappointing in Stuttgart, dominated the Friday show in Chemnitz, chased all evening by Mike Brown.
The two Americans were only separated on the podium by defending champion Florent Richier, who had impressed through the other half of the draw and kept his cool for second after holeshotting the Main.
However, the second day was a disaster for Goerke as he eventually went out of the show with a third-place finish in the LCQ.
Ramette, who hadn't even made a Main event through the first three rounds, was the surprise winner on the second night, sweeping past Joaquim Rodrigues for a decisive win after cool 2-3 finishes during the qualifiers.
Siebler, who had raced unbeaten through to the Main on Saturday, added a third to his first night fifth and was as surprised as anyone when the results were added up and he was stadium king by two points.
SX2 was even more hectic but ‘Dunny' learns fast and made it through the tough afternoon qualification on both day.
A runaway second moto win and a podium on day one were the highlights as the experienced Jorgensen showed speed and consistency to collect the winner's trophy on both nights – even if the pot should actually have gone to Borris Maillard under FIM tie-break rules on day two!
Home heroes Dennis Ullrich and Dominique Thury had mixed fortunes.
Local hero Thury was consistent without challenging for a win all weekend, while Ullrich – leading the series after Stuttgart – didn't even make the programme on Friday and crashed his brains out in both Main events on Saturday.
Alex Snow took over AJ Catanzaro's SX1 ride in the Ihle team but, sadly, was eliminated before the semis on both nights.
However ‘Snowy' only missed by one place in the repecharge on day two.
