RIDERS at the fifth and sixth rounds of the Wyre Forest Championship series were in for a serious treat when they arrived at Usk, near Monmouth, over the weekend. The venue was a full blown X-Country course that any adult would have been proud to have a go at, 7.5-miles in length and a variety of terrain to suit every rider. The line-up for the first race on Saturday was excellent as the Auto 50cc class left the start to complete a slightly shortened course

Archie Hicks took the opening race with ease, a lap clear of Zac Clarke and two up on third placed Harry Smith. Hicks and Clarke continued their good form on Sunday, taking first and second once again while William Stansbie Slotted into third.
Matty Morris was another rider who also pulled off a double win in the Auto Quad (Under 10) on both days. Morris was joined on Saturday by Max Allen, Sophie Bailey and Tilde Tighe, while Bailey Edwards, Jack Harvey, Max Allen and Sophie Bailey completed the top five on Sunday.
The Over 10 also saw another two-times winner in Elliot Downes who led home Jordan Harris, Marloe Magee, Jordan Hickman and Jamie Bone on Saturday. On Sunday Luke Davies took second place ahead of Jordan Hickman.
Danny Lloyd headed the Saturday Blaster class with Jak Griffiths and Jack Godfrey close behind in second and third. Sunday was all-change as Godfrey took top spot and was joined by Harry Timbrell from Jamie Morgan.
Mitch Warhurst, Brad Sullivan and Dean Edwards took two 1-2-3's over the two days in the Junior 65cc solo class. Whilst Oli Benton topped both Inter 85cc Under 13 races. Adam James took second in both and Luke Rudd third.
Andrew Bull was unstoppable in the Inter 85cc Over 13 group with two wins. Jack Powell followed him home on Saturday with Rhian George in hot pursuit. Both Bull and Powell maintained position on Sunday as both Harland White moved up a slot to third.
Liam Garbett trashed his bike while winning the 125cc solo class on Saturday ahead of Ash Bowden and Tommy Alba. Despite having a replacement bought in for Sunday he struggled to start as the flag dropped. Within four laps, however, he had gone from last to first and was cruising to a second win until he had a coming-together with another rider. He finished in second until he was disqualified by his dad, organiser Rob Garbett, for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
A bitter pill to swallow but young Liam did the right thing and apologised, both riders shaking hands and moving on. Luke Smith took the win with Ash Bowden second and Nathan Holtby third.
Well done to all at Wyre Forest Off Road for yet another superb event.
