Fans save International

HIMX, the new promoters of the annual Hawkstone International, don't think a one-liner thank you' was sufficient to express their gratitude to those who supported the event this year.People don't realise how close we were to losing the Hawkstone International for good, explains Guy Evans from HIMX. The individuals in our team invested a lot of their own money to stage this event and in the current economic climate, it was not without risk. However, we can now breathe out again because everything was on our side including the weather.
The spectators reacted positively to the reduction of the admission price from 25 to 20 with children under 14 free and that is what it is all about, working together to survive.
Obviously a big thank you must also go to our major sponsor, Hawk Plant, who have supported Hawkstone Park for many years, as well as our other sponsors Petag Transport Belgium, BF Goodrich Tires, Dirt Bike Rider, Cradley Kawasaki, RJS Builders, Doodson Insurance, Wulfsport and T+MX as well as all the marshals, officials and everyone who has helped us to put on this event.
We can look forward now to an even better one next year!
(Crowd estimates for the event ranged around the 4,000 mark. Ed.)
