WORLD Trial of Great Britain organisers John Kerwin (aka www.dirtbike-traxs.com) and Graham Jarvis are pleased to report that preparations for the event, which will take place on the weekend May 16/17, are fully on schedule and they are delighted to announce that title sponsorship has been agreed with Lloyd Motors, the north's leading family-owned prestige car dealership group. Event coordinator Gary Bingley, explained: The Lloyd brand is very well-established in the area and it is fantastic that a local business which employs over 700 staff has pledged sponsorship support for the Cumbrian-based World Trial.
Gary added: The BMW and Honda brands represented by Lloyd Group have obvious motorsport connections, and the event also coincides with the opening of the new Lloyd Motorcycles superstore in Carlisle.
Lloyd Motor Group input has included the fantastic new trial website www.
britishtrialgp.com launched this week. The company will also assist in marketing aspects of the event, ensuring news, schedules and information are updated regularly on the new site.
After successfully running the British Experts Trial at the Nord Vue venue in July last year, the organising team have stepped-up activity in building several spectacular new sections in the main quarry which will become the show-piece of the event.
Graham Jarvis: My aim has been to create a severe test for the World's best trials riders and at the same time provide unrivalled viewing for the thousands of spectators we expect over the weekend.
The two-round British event within the World Trial Championship will be held over two days, May 16/17.
The organisers have welcomed the support of Cumberland County Motorcycle Club and the Northern Centre of the ACU. The Cumberland club have staged many trials events at this venue over the years and it will be fitting for their members to man a sponsored section at the World Round extravaganza.
From a spectator perspective, the venue is situated midway between Carlisle and Penrith and is easily accessed from the M6 motorway, only two and a half hours from Birmingham and an hour less from Glasgow. For fans based in the North
East and Yorkshire this is almost a local event!
The sections are based around a compact sandstone quarry and will predominantly feature huge boulders, awesome rock steps and fearsome drop-offs.
All sections are situated within 500 metres of the start area, thus providing easy access for trials fans of all ages.
Camping on-site, bars, catering and entertainment will be provided on Charles Lowther's organic Nord Vue Farm.
Tickets can be purchased on-line at a major discount of 25% with immediate effect. All you have to do is log onto www.britishtrialgp.com and reserve your chance to see Bou, Raga, Cabestany and Fujinami take on the best of the Brits in Lampkin, Dabill, Brown and Wigg.
A great weekend of World Championship trials action awaits and T+MX will keep you right up to date with all the news.
