First ever double for Aubert
By TMX Archives on 3rd May 07

Leaving Europe's frozen north behind, the second round of the '07 Maxxis FIM World Enduro Championship took place in Puerto Lumbreras, Spain, where Juha Salminen topped the Enduro 1 class, Johnny Aubert claimed his first ever double Enduro 2 class victory and home rider Ivan Cervantes dominated the Enduro 3 class. Wet on day one and dry and dusty on day two Tom Sagar produced Britain's best result finishing in seventh and fifth positions in the Enduro Junior class.
With six weeks having passed since the first roundof the '07 World Enduro Championship in Sweden, round two of the seriesset up camp in Puerto Lumbreras, Spain, where warmer weather, and atorrential rain storm on Friday evening before the race, greeted ridersahead of what would be a not-so-difficult' event due to there being noreal enduro or extreme test.
With the arid Spanish countryside badly needing alittle rain the sudden and torrential downpour on Friday evening beforethe event was as unexpected as it was welcomed. Doing much more thankeeping the dust down, the rain turned several sections of the event'senduro test into almost bottomless swamps, which caught several ridersout during the course of the first day.
With conditions drying during the opening day, andwith the mud-holes removed from the enduro test for day two the secondday was extremely dry and dusty, with little changing in the way ofclass results.
