Forget last season...

JUST when you'd thought you were still congratulating Carl Nunn (MX2) and Ken de Dycker (MX1) on winning their respective 2006 Maxxis British Motocross Championship titles it's time to forget last season and concentrate on the 2007 series as round one of the hotly contested, and one of the best domestic championships in Europe, gets underway on Sunday, March 11.

The ever-keen and popular Sidcup and District MCC hosts the opening round at its ever-popular and dramatic Canada Heights venue, south of London, inside the M25 at Swanley in Kent.

Both '06 champions are keen to get their season underway and after a strong showing last Sunday at Hawkstone it looks like CAS Honda's Belgian team leader De Dycker will be a hard man to beat.

Nunn and his Bikeit Dixon Yamaha, on the other hand, took a bit of a kicking during a crash off a large table-top on Sunday and is still feeling decidedly second hand, which should open up the opportunity for a good start to the season for some determined MX2 pilot.

Kicking off in the ‘determined MX2 pilot' stakes is obviously Red Bull KTM's Tommy Searle (riding for KTM UK in British champs) who was runner-up to Nunny last year and at 17-years-old is a fabulous prospect for domestic and even world domination given half a chance.

However, our Tommy will have to be on top of his game to fend off Nunny and a certain former champ, American Mike Brown, who has joined the CAS Honda squad for MX2 class work this year.
