The best racers in the Country in three and four-wheeled off-road motorcycle sport will be at Wrangway, near Wellington, Somerset, when Broadhembury and DMC play host two British Championships on Sunday, June 27.

 British QuadX

Round three of the British QuadX Championship will see some eager competitors glad to be back out on track again after the last Championship outing at the beginning of May, in Northern Ireland.

While the quad competitors do not have a World Championship series yet, three racers competing at Wrangway are in the top ten of the European Championship, so top class racing is guaranteed.

Leading the championship by 14 points after the opening double-header at Desertmartin, defending British Champion, Paul Winrow, will be hoping for a similar result as he tries to secure his 11th British title, but round one leader John Mitchell has proved that he is back up to speed on the ATV World Yamaha. The affable Scot will make the long trip from Stornoway firmly focused on reducing the deficit.

A superb display in Ireland saw Carl Bunce come away in third a further 19 points adrift, but hot on his heels with just four points splitting the trio are Mark Watson and Jason Macbeth. Former British SidecarX Champion Watson has adapted well to four wheels with a race win at the Italian round of the European Championship. Meanwhile, day two runner-up in Ireland and 2009 Weston Beach Race winner Macbeth will be aiming for the podium once again.

Current European Quad Champion, Paul Holmes, has clearly put the disappointment of the opening round behind him and is a strong challenger for the podium, particularly after taking a fantastic overall win at the recent European Championship round in Poland.

Currently leading the championship after four rounds are the defending champions, Stuart Brown/ Luke Peters, who are 61 points clear of second placed Scott Wilkinson/ David Keane.

In third place are the relatively local team of Daniel and Joe Millard just four points behind Wilkinson. On this circuit last year Brown was defeated in the third moto by the Millards so they will be going flat out to repeat that feat and possibly do the same in the other two legs.

Battling for fourth place in the table are current AMCA champions, Steve France/ Lee Machin who are just seven points in front of Andy and Tim Breacher.

There will be plenty of action throughout the day with both Championships enjoying three races apiece, plus a support race for solo machines.

Practice begins at 9.30am with racing scheduled to start at 11am.

Admission is £7 for adults, children over 15 £3 and children under 15 free. Programmes will be £1.

The course is situated about five miles from the M5, at Junction 26, with the route being signed from there and along the A38 Wellington bypass.

The nearest postcode is TA21 9QG, from where this postcode is reached the signage should be followed.
