It's Talmag time again
By TMX Archives on 20th Jan 10

WITH the Christmas and New Year festivities now firmly behind us, it's that time of year when the 2010 classic trials season kicks into action with the now traditional season opener the Talmag Trophy Trial which this year takes place this Sunday, January 24.
This incredibly popular annual four-stroke only event, which is held at the infamous Hungry Hill MOD land near Aldershot, has, as usual, attracted some 170 entries from riders from as far afield as Belgium and Germany.
The recent heavy snowfall that has beset almost all of the country should make for an interesting event, although lets hope for a clear, sunny day. Whatever, previous winner Len Hutty Jr, riding his imacculate 410 Matchless G3LC, still remains odds on favourite to take the overall honours. There's quite a competitive element but for many, the Talmag is all about getting out there, meeting fellow enthusiasts and wallowing in the sights and sounds of those good old big British bangers. For those classic trials enthusiasts willing to brave the elements, the Talmag is an event not to be missed and although many might disagree, it is often considered a gentle warm-up for the upcoming season, with the emphasis being more one of nostalgia as well as being a social gathering.
First man away is at 9.30am prompt and Hungry Hill can be found at map reference OS186848511 and for those using a SatNav your nearest reference point would be Tesco's at the Wellington roundabout on the A325 Farnham to Farnborough Road at GU11 1SQ. The venue will be signposted off of the Wellesley and Bourley Roads opposite the Tesco site.
Why not get out there and join the crowds.
