LAST week we heard all about James Dunn getting away from it all with a week of serious tyre testing down in Spain.
Well, it seems Damon Wales can top that one. Right now, 16-year-old Nottingham-based youngster Damon is slap bang in the middle of a month long spell out in America mixing it with the likes of Tommy Searle and the rest of the KTM USA crew.
Damon is well known in Youth motocross circles for his ability to source the very best of the factory parts and that's exactly the point of this current trip.
Damon is due to return in the middle of February with a brand new 2010 works style rear suspension set-up fully sorted and tested with the rest of the pretty special blue-print machine being shipped over in time for the opening BYMX round at Leuchars, Scotland, on the weekend of March 27/28.
Damon has been in really good form all through the winter months and just before he flew out on January 6, he had time to stop off at Polesworth to collect his trophy for winning the Wilden Winter Series Youth 125cc Championship.
Young Damon will also be one of the featured riders on the new official 2010 BYMX website, you can check out more on Damon and all the current BYMX news and photos at www.ragextra.co.uk
