REMEMBER the heady days of Witton Castle, where the North East Centre club Iveston & Satley reigned supreme until the owners axed the track after the Falcon takeover. The club ran British and NETT Quad Championship meetings, British Sidecar, and Under 21 solos in the nineties with great success and with huge spectator numbers.
Well, I&S is back in the ACU. ranks and has just released a list of nine quad meetings, taking in adults and juniors.
The dates run as follows:– April 20 at the Blue Barn track at Rowley; May 11 at Topcliffe; June 1 at Dean Moor, Whitehaven; June 22 at the fast Duns track, Scotland. The next is a two-day fixture at Blue Barn on August 24/25 with an end of season meeting at Wooley Grange, Tow Law, on September 28.
All details can be obtained from Gillian Nixon, Park Gill, Allendale, Hexham NE47 9AQ.
Mrs Nixon will take charge of entries and membership applications. Iveston & Satley MC will enforce a strict 'no telephone entries' rule. Quad adult entries are set at £40 while Juniors race for just £25.
The next I&S meeting is this Sunday at the Blue Barns track, right alongside the A68 trunk road, north of Tow Law. Start time will 10am straight after sign-on and practice.
