AFTER the stunning start at Matchams Park in mid-February for one the UK's highest profile cross-country race series GBXC the organisers have announced details for the remaining rounds of the series.
Round two will take place in Monmouth on May 4 at a superb venue with great parking and two motocross tracks linked by some small pieces of woodland.
Paul Edmondson has inspected the venue and informed Steve Ireland that it will fit in nicely within the GBXC
schedule. All rounds will get the same TV coverage that round one received, which raised the awareness of XC racing around the UK. Literally thousands of viewers tuned in to the see GBXC on telly and saw the world's best off-road rider, David Knight, take a well earned victory ahead of Jason Thomas.
The Pro line-up at the opening round was simply unbelievable with a complete who's who in the British Enduro and off-road scene. Entries for all the remaining three rounds are expected to fill quickly.
David Knight (pictured right) will once again be present at round two, although Jason Thomas will no longer be competing in the series as he will be residing in Canada for the foreseeable future.
The third round will be staged near Oswestry and the finale will be in Kent.
All of these venues have been selected and planned carefully to ensure that the riders, the TV company, the spectators and most of important of all, the sport it self comes out on top with a winning formula to an awesome championship.
For 2009 the organisers are promising a much bigger and comprehensive series. Exciting times lie ahead for the UK's cross-country riders as this championship grows in strength not just stature.
Entries are open now for the round two at St Wulstans Farm, Welsh Newton Common, Monmouth, NP25 5RT, catering for all classes from Pro through to Ladies and Youth.
