The 2008/2009 Quad Magazine John Elliott Winter Challenge concluded this year with the presentationof the Quad Magazine trophies in September.

The overall championship winner this season was Rob Hanks. The trophies were presented by series
founder and world champion Quad rider, John Elliott. Support Class Winner was Dominic Durkan and the
Stock Class winner was David Lickfold.

This year there are some changes to the championship.

The 2009/2010 Winter Challenge will now be sponsored by Allstar Motor Sport Promotions, run by Blue
Donohoe, who has been organising and promoting the championship for the past five seasons. So it will
still be the same friendly faces and cup of tea to greet you on race mornings.

The PRO Class has been replaced with the Expert class and the Support class with the Clubman class.

The stock class has been discontinued due to the near impossibility of determining what constitutes a
‘stock' Racing quad, with the amount of machines now being manufactured to race standard. The
introduction of the Clubman class will allow all machines to compete at a suitable level. It has also been
decided that the Over 35 class will now become the Over 40.

The club will from now on follow the Southern Motocross calendar, so all available race dates will be
listed and racing will only take place if the weather is considered favourable. It is highly unlikely that all
the dates set out will be suitable, so if a round is missed the championship will move on to the next date
in the calendar.

The Allstar team hope that the changes to the formula of the championship will encourage more
competitors to take part. They are also looking for volunteers to come and assist with some of the
marshalling/scrutineering/lap scoring duties. No experience is necessary, as training will be given. For
