KTM recalls all 2013 off-road Two-strokes

It has been discovered that certain 2013 two-stroke off-road bikes have been affected by a throttle housing defect and in the interests of safety KTM has commenced the global recall of specific models from the 2013 model year, of which around 1500 models from the UK and Ireland are affected.
Due to a supplier production fault, KTM is replacing the upper part of the throttle grip housing on all affected models. The replacement can be carried out by authorised KTM dealers only. It takes about 25 minutes and is completely free of charge.
The recall action affects the following models:
Motocross 2013 model year: 85 SX, 125 SX, 150 SX, 250 SX.
Enduro 2013 model year: 125 EXC, 200 EXC, 250 EXC, 300 EXC.
2012 and 2013 model year 2-stroke Husabergs are also affected by the recall.
Customers who have taken delivery of a motorcycle affected by the recall will be contacted in writing by KTM UK.
Customers can check if their motorcycle is affected by contacting their local authorised KTM dealer and quoting the last six digits of their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).
Customers can also check online to find out if their motorcycle is affected The recall information is available in the "Service” area of www.ktm.com and can be seen by entering the complete (17 digit) VIN and the motorcycle's Delivery Certificate number, which is located on the upper right corner of their Delivery Certificate.
KTM UK very much regrets the resulting inconvenience concerning this recall but customer safety is of paramount importance.
