WITH another dry Sunday, the team at Little Silver, venue for the opening round of the ACU Maxxis British Motocross Championship this coming weekend, have been able to put the final touches to the circuit and paint the posts, well ahead of schedule. Even the ACU Events team moved in early to erect a large proportion of the banners.

Despite heavy overnight rain, the hillside track is extremely dry and the fact that it was ‘sealed' before the rain arrived has left it in prime condition. The gritty, sand based circuit will be left sealed until late in the week, until the weather forecasters are confident of a dry weekend, in which case it will be ripped and harrowed. If a wet weekend is forecast it will be left as hard pack.
Clerk of the course, Si Higgins, commented:The whole team has worked well and we are ahead of schedule.
The crowd control barriers for the extra spectator area on the hillside will arrive this week and then we will be ready to go. I am confident of some good racing on Sunday, especially with the quality of the entry in all classes.
The Little Silver circuit offers all round viewing and is situated within sight of junction 31 of the M5 Motorway, near Exeter. Top GP riders include Zach Osbourne, Mel Pocock, Stephen Sword, Tom Church, Matiss Karro, Jake Nicholls, Gareth Swanepoel, Evgeny Bobryschev, Graeme Irwin and Pascal Leuret who will be supported by top UK riders, Gordon Crockard, Carl Nunn, James Noble, Kristian Whatley, Jason Dougan, Elliot Banks Browne, Jordan Rose and a host of others.
This will be the first event with the three-race format and also the Superpole addition to the morning qualifying session.
The first race will commence at 12.15pm, while early arrivals can watch free-practice and timed qualifying from 9am onwards at no extra cost.
