Trying to keep busy

Colunists

Its been a stop-start month for me along with everyone else I guess with the weather playing its role again.

I headed up to Craig's Honda in Yorkshire on the Saturday before the Maxxis British Championship round at FatCat, with team boss Dave Thorpe, to get involved in a Honda dealer day.

From there we drove across to FatCat where we then had a Honda team photoshoot, static profile shots with the bike and things like that.

I stayed up in the camper that night and it rained all night leaving the track and paddock very wet by the Sunday morning.

It was decided to run the event to the wet schedule which I think was the right decision at that point.

But to sum the day up it didn't go too well for me, one to forget and move on from very quickly.

I was eleventh in race one and then got myself stuck in a bog in race two.

There's a long way to go so I won't take too much from the first round.

Tuesday morning after FatCat I get a phone call to say Canada Heights was cancelled.

Again I think it was the right decision by the organisers, with no point in having another mudbath.

But I do wish the weather would improve so we can get on with some meetings.

Moving on, I was training a couple of actors on the Honda school last week.

Apparently, in the movie they are escaping from prison, jump on some bikes and ride across the desert.

Obviously there is more to the movie than just that bit, but it sounds pretty good. Hopefully they remembered what I told them to make a quick get away.

I'm looking forward to the premiere!

The next few weeks are filling up with MX/ enduro days at our venue in Wales and my next race will be the Maxxis British Champs at Lyng, while the Red Bull Pro Nats start soon too.

I will look forward to Lyng as it's a great track for me.

I spent Easter weekend with the family doing egg hunts and all that stuff for the kids.

I will be busy for a month and should have lots to tell you next time. Take care and good luck if you're racing soon.
