Manx for the memories!
By TMX Archives on 26th Aug 09

This weekend the focus of the UK trials scene will fall on the Isle of Man for the Manx National Two-Day Trial. Despite the difficult economic times there is once again a full Solo entry of 275 and a very healthy 41 Sidecars. As ever, all of those travelling to the Island will be in for a great weekend of competition and riding, together with some of the legendary socialising for which the trial is just as famous. And in an environment where the traditional No-Stop' rule is being debated again, these numbers are further proof of the popularity that this type of trial currently enjoys.
On Saturday morning the riders will depart the World Famous TT Grandstand starting at 8am. The Solos will head towards the south of the Island covering around 50-miles and completing 45-sections.
Meanwhile the Sidecars, starting at 8.30am head north for a loop that covers almost 36 miles and 50 sections.
Directions are reversed on Sunday with the Solos heading in a northerly direction, covering a further 44-miles and another 42-sections, while the Sidecars head south to cover 40-miles and 46-sections.
The Premier Award for winning the Manx Two-Day Trial is a truly awesome replica of the Manx Sword of State, a very prestigious and sought after prize.
For 2009 the three individual classes in the trial have sponsors. The Solo National class is sponsored by Wilson and Collins Ltd, Structural Steelwork Engineers, the Solo Clubman class is sponsored by Manx Independent Carriers, a leading local transport solutions company while the Sidecars has joint sponsors, AD Hewett Dental Practise and Swales Flooring. Without the generous support of these companies the organisers would be unable to continue to offer such unique and prestigious trophies to the winners and thank them wholeheartedly for their support.
So who do we expect to do the winning this weekend?
